Great Symphonies
Great Symphonies offers a grand tour to some of the most beautiful and diverse pieces of classical music ever written. The symphonic form is bound only by the imagination of the composer. We will experience such masterpieces as the Haydn “Surprise”, the Mozart "g minor", the Beethoven Symphony No. 7, the Berlioz “Symphonie Fantastique," the Carlos Chávez Sinfonia India, the Amy Beach “Gaelic” and the Mahler Symphony No. 2. Each work will be placed in historical content with a chronicle of the composer’s life and the significance of the work. No musical knowledge is necessary for the enjoyment of this class.
