Meet the Student Support Center Team
Natasha Cornell, Ed.D.
Natasha Cornell, EdD, has over 25 years of experience in higher education management, spanning public, private, and specialized colleges. She has served in numerous leadership roles in both academic and student affairs. Currently, she holds the position of Senior Director of Student Success and Student DEI Advocate in NYUSPS: Office of Student Affairs. Dr. Cornell's work in higher education was catalyzed by her own undergraduate experience as a First-Generation, Afro-Caribbean student. She is passionate about leveling the playing field and to ensure student success for all students.
She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, an MA in Higher Education Student Personnel Administration, an MS in Foundation of Education K-12, and a BA in Organizational Communication. In addition, she holds professional certificates in Global Inclusion Leadership, Leadership Excellence, and Human Resource Management.

Melinda Affriol earned her Bachelor's Degree from Montclair State University. After graduating college, she began her journey working in the education field where she served as a high school English teacher in Thailand for four years. Upon returning to the United States and wanting to stay in the industry of education, she began working at NYUSPS in the office of Continuing Education Student Services, helping students gain new skill sets to advance their careers. She now works in Student Affairs as the Assistant Director of Student Academic Support Services, where she will serve as an academic advisor for MSTI and MSPW programs and develop initiatives to enhance the student support and engagement experience.

As a member of the Student Support Center. I oversee the Purple Pantry and I assist students with any questions or concerns they have about their tutoring appointments and I help with booking appointments if needed. I also email tutoring referrals to students from their professors. If you have a student in need of tutoring or access to the Purple Pantry send them my way!
