This accelerated certificate program explores both the development of historic preservation as a field and the characteristics of contemporary practice.
The Accelerated Certificate in Historic Preservation Policy and Practice is a fully online, flexible, one-semester program for professionals interested in learning the fundamentals of historic preservation policy and practice in the United States. Ideal for building professionals such as architects, urban planners, and real estate specialists as well as other design professionals who aspire to work in historic preservation, public history, tourism, design, and the management of the built environment, this program explores both the development of historic preservation as a field and the characteristics of contemporary practice. Historic preservation in the United States advanced substantially with the passage of the National Historic Preservation Act in 1966.
