The first two course modules are delivered synchronously online via Zoom, and the final course module — The Future of Remote Work & Career Growth — takes place in person at the NYU Tulsa campus.

Since Tulsa Remote's launch in 2018, thousands of remote workers have moved to the city. Tulsa has attracted more than 3,900 remote workers through Tulsa Remote, which provides financial incentives, workspace, and social infrastructure to support professional development and integration within the Tulsa community. More than 75 percent of participants have stayed in the city for at least a year after completing the Tulsa Remote program. The initiative has contributed more than $600 million to the city’s economy.

The new NYU SPS Remote Work Success Certificate program is open to both the Tulsa Remote community and professionals from across the country. All registered learners take part in the same modules and shared activities, including the final in-person days in Tulsa.

“The combination of NYU SPS’ career-focused continuing education programs and certificates with Tulsa’s remote-friendly culture will help people build real expertise and improve their marketable and hireable skills," said Anna Tavis, chair of the NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business Human Capital Management department. “The program is a great opportunity for participants to connect with and learn from professionals across industries, including Tulsa’s vibrant remote-work community.”

“Remote work, when practiced correctly, can bring people together, unearth better ideas, and democratize opportunity,” said Justin Harlan, managing director of Tulsa Remote. “Tulsa Remote’s collaboration with the NYU School of Professional Studies will build on all that we’ve learned from our growing community of remote workers to connect participants with the tools they need to advance in their careers and thrive in an economy that continues to be powered by remote and hybrid teams.”

For additional details about the certificate and to register for the inaugural program cohort, which starts in February 2026, visit the NYU SPS Remote Work Success Certificate webpage.

About Tulsa Remote
Tulsa Remote is the country’s first and largest remote worker relocation program. The program offers resources to help newcomers thrive, an active and supportive community, and $10,000 to help them make Tulsa home. Since the program launched in 2018, it has attracted thousands of remote workers, generated hundreds of millions in local economic impact, and created new jobs for longtime and new Tulsans.

Program funding is currently provided by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, with added support through the Oklahoma Remote Quality Jobs Incentive Act. The City of Tulsa, and other community organizations lend their support to ensure program participants are fully immersed and engaged in the community. In addition to this new certificate program, NYU Tulsa will host semester-length “study away” programs for students and a range of experiential learning, research, creative, and community engagement activities.

About the NYU School of Professional Studies
Established in 1934, NYU SPS is an internationally recognized university that offers diverse students access and opportunity to practical, real-world preparation to thrive in their careers while building the next generation of industry leaders ready to embrace tomorrow’s innovations and challenges and lead change in global workplaces.

The NYU SPS global community is made up of industry professionals, doers, and trailblazers shaping the future of industries, positioning the School as an idea incubator for various fields, including real estate, hospitality, global affairs, sports business, integrated marketing, HR, professional writing and more.

Today, NYU SPS offers one of the most diverse portfolios of educational offerings at NYU, including graduate degrees, bachelor’s degrees for traditional and degree completion students, associate degrees, continuing education courses, and certificate programs.
