Undergraduate Student Events

NYU School of Professional Studies students enrolled in an undergraduate or a graduate degree program have access to a variety of academic services to support their studies, including faculty advisement, the NYU Writing Center, workshops, and library assistance.
Academic advisors serve as a basic source of information about the degree requirements, policies, and procedures of your program. They are able to help you to resolve academic issues and to make informed educational choices. Students can meet with advisors as often as needed.
You are strongly encouraged to meet with your advisor each term. In addition, many courses are restricted and require an access code that an advisor must provide prior to registering. Contact your program office for specific information regarding the advisement process.
Located at 411 Lafayette Street, 3rd floor, the Writing Center is staffed by trained student consultants who will assist you in improving your writing and editing skills. Writing consultants will work with you on a one-on-one basis, providing feedback, suggestions, information, advice, and encouragement. Any student who is currently enrolled in a degree program at NYU is eligible to use the Writing Center.
Students must make their first appointment by visiting the Writing Center in person; initial appointments cannot be scheduled by phone. For more information, call the Writing Center directly at 212-998-8866.
Special NYU School of Professional Studies Workshops
Each semester, the Office of Graduate Student Life and the Office of Undergraduate Student Life present a variety of workshops on writing skills, presentation skills, Excel spreadsheet basics, research paper writing, and more.
Resources for Proper Citation
All students are expected to pursue and to meet the highest standards of academic excellence by adhering to the academic policies of the School and the University. This requires including the proper citation for ideas, data, and published work of others. Students should always check with the instructor or program to determine the appropriate requirements for a specific project.
