Frequently Asked Questions

Enrolled students often have common questions for which they need answers. We have compiled a list of frequently asked question with answers that you can instantly access. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact the Office of Student Life.

All students receive a packet that contains information on registration, academic advisement, drop/add policies and procedures, refund policies and procedures, and upcoming course offerings. This information is sent by the academic departments approximately three months prior to the beginning of the semester. Some courses may need an access code for registration.

You need to notify both the University using Albert (www.albert.nyu.edu), and the academic department by notifying an advisor.

Speak with an academic advisor during advisement/registration to determine which classes would be appropriate for your course of study.

To be eligible for NYU School of Professional Studies and University scholarships, fellowships, or loans, you must submit a FAFSA form each academic year. Initial scholarships are provided at the time of admission. Some departments also offer merit scholarships for current students. Check with your academic advisor regarding the application process and deadlines.
